    Self-Leveling Underlay

    1. The installer sprayed a latex primer over the entire surface (figure A). This will wet the plywood and help the gypsum product adhere to the floor.

    2. Using a drill with a special mixing bit, they blended the gypsum with water and sanded till it was the consistency of a runny milkshake (figure B).

    3. Once the product was completely mixed, they dumped it on the bathroom floor in manageable batches (figure C).

    4. Because it sets so quickly, they used a very large float to smooth out the surface (figure D), allowing the product to self-level. After four hours of setting, the floor was complete. It looks great!
