The heating system had been installed, and the floor was ready for the self-leveling underlay. Stuart and Kelly brought in a professional for this part of the project.

1. The installer sprayed a latex primer over the entire surface (figure A). This will wet the plywood and help the gypsum product adhere to the floor.2. Using a drill with a special mixing bit, they blended the gypsum with water and sanded till it was the consistency of a runny milkshake (figure B).
3. Once the product was completely mixed, they dumped it on the bathroom floor in manageable batches (figure C).4. Because it sets so quickly, they used a very large float to smooth out the surface (figure D), allowing the product to self-level. After four hours of setting, the floor was complete. It looks great!
