Choosing Bath Fixtures

1. Host Amy Matthews and the homeowner (Larry) visited a showroom before the project began in order to see what new bath fixtures were available. The showroom specialized in high-style contemporary designs mainly from Italy and Germany.

2. When it comes to free-standing tubs (figure A) they are really a piece of art in your bathroom. If you have a lot of space in your bathroom, this tub is a great option.

3. If you are confined for space, a wall fitted tub would work. A deck mounted tub (figure B) allows you to do jets because you have a place to house the motors.

4. The ultimate in toilets is an electronic toilet (figure C) that opens and closes with a remote control.

5. The homeowner chose an air tub with 16 air jets on the bottom. The air pump is at one end and it connects with a manifold that connects with the air jets by way of the supply lines. The air jets have an anti-return valve in each of them that enables you to add bath salts and aromatherapy. When the jets aren't on, the valves close so that things won't seep back in and ruin your pipes.
