    Demolition

  • In order to remove the pocket door, remove the trim using a hammer and prybar (figure A), and then pull the door out.

  • Check inside the door cavity and make sure there is absolutely nothing in between the walls, then you can begin removing the wall with a reciprocating saw (figure B).

Note: Be sure that the water and power are turned off before demolition.

  • Carefully open up the other walls by pounding a series of holes into the wall with a hammer (figure C).

  • Tear away the drywall.

  • Cut the studs with a reciprocating saw.

Note: Take extra care when using the reciprocating saw near plumbing and electrical lines.

  • Disconnect the plumbing under the sink and then lift the sink out. Pull up the countertop (figure D) and remove the vanities.

Tip: When you are doing a remodeling job, it is a good idea to rent a dumpster. An average bathroom remodel requires a six to ten cubit foot dumpster.

  • Remove the old toilet.

  • Remove the flooring.

In the third segment, the acrylic bathtub is installed.
