Finishing Touches- Base shoe was installed around the bottom of the wall (figure A). This helps hold the vinyl flooring in place.
- A hole was cut for the new toilet, and new light fixtures installed.
- Installing a pedestal is fairly easy, it is just a matter of a few small steps. Mark where the mounting holes are on the back of the sink (figure B).
Note: You need to put a piece of one by lumber inside the wall at the sink height in order to support the sink. - Drill pilot holes to match in the wall.
- The support bolts are threaded on both ends. Put the acorn nut on the machine-threaded end and use it to drive the lag screws into the wall.
- Install the faucet assembly before attaching the sink to the wall, as it is much easier to reach the back now than it will be later.
Note: Snug up the gasket but do not over tighten it. - Also put the drainpipe in (figure C) -- often called the throat pipe.
- Attach the connecting lines to the mixer (figure D).
- Pull the acorn nuts off the mounting screws and fit the sink over the holes (figure E), placing it on the pedestal.
- The acorn nuts go back on with a washer and get tightened with a wrench.
- The plumber can then finish hooking up the sink.
- Install the new toilet.
- All is left is to put up new accessories -- towel ring, mirror, blinds for the window, etc.
