    The newly installed French doors
    Todd and Mica Franks, and their three kids, decided their three-bedroom home could do with some additional breathing room. An exercise room and fourth bedroom in the basement would provide much needed space as well as add to the homes value and desirability. The Sweat Equity team stepped in to help out.

    Projects in Sweat Equity makeover included adding an egress window, reframing and hanging drywall, installing new flooring, adding French doors and updating the lighting.

    Here's the dollar breakdown:

    Final Tally:

    flooring $2,200
    French doors $450
    egress window $350
    paint, carpet & lighting $485
    labor & drywall materials $2,500
    dumpster and permit for demolition $500

    TOTAL = $6,485

    realtor's estimated value increase = $16,000
    total cost of material = $6,485

    net return on investment = $9,515
