Materials:2 x 4 medium density foam (MDF) or plywood
2" deck screws

- To create the bar stool legs, first sketch out each bar stool on paper.
- Take a 2 x 4 and cut in half to a 1-1/2 x 1-1/2. Traditional bar stool height is 30", and the height of the bar stool seat should be factored into the final measurement. In most cases, use plywood or MDF to secure the custom seat to the legs.
- Cut each of the four legs at the same exact measurement and the same goes for your cross braces (eight in all). To verify that each leg and cross brace are exact measurements, stack each group and use both hands to feel for accuracy. If the legs are not exact, it will cause the stool to be wobbly and therefore could be dangerous.
- To connect the legs with the cross braces use a Forster bit, apply some wood glue and insert a 2" deck screw at all connecting points of the framework.
- Sand and finish with stain or paint.
- Assemble the bar seat accordingly. If the bar seat is heavy, keep in mind that in some cases you may need to add safety legs to prevent stool from toppling over.
Meet Special Guest: JoJo White
JoJo White, a standout player on two Boston Celtics world championship teams, was hired by the Celtics as Director of Special Projects and Community Relations Representative in May, 2000.
In his role with the Celtics, White will have a wide range of responsibilities within the Marketing, Community Relations and Basketball Operations departments.
White, who the Celtics selected with their first pick in the 1969 draft out of Kansas University, spent the first 10 years of his 12-year playing career with Boston. He finished his career with the Celtics averaging 18.3 points per game, leading the team in scoring once and in assists four times.
A sterling post-season performer, White played key roles in Boston's run to both the 1973-74 and 1975-76 world titles, finishing with a 21.5 career playoff scoring average. He played 60 minutes in the Celtics historic triple-overtime win over the Phoenix Suns on the Boston Garden's parquet floor in the 1976 NBA Finals, and was later named the series Most Valuable Player.
White is still remembered as one of the most durable Celtics, as his streak of 488 consecutive games played remains a franchise record. A seven-time All-Star, White's number 10 jersey was retired by the Celtics in a ceremony at the Boston Garden on April 9, 1982.
