    Materials:

    Gossamer
    Jute erosion cloth
    Black column candles
    Copper pot scrubbers
    Punch bowl "cauldron"
    Rubber gloves
    Gummi worms
    Plastic spiders
    Rubber bands
    Dry ice
    Flicker lights
    Canvas

    1. Tear (don't cut) the gossamer into long triangular strips so the edges are rough. Tear holes in it. Suspend it from a chandelier (figure A) and over paintings and curtains.

    2. Use the erosion cloth as a tablecloth (figure B).

    3. Unroll the copper pot scrubber and use it as a sleeve at the base on the candle column (figure C). Not only does it give a neat appearance, it will prevent wax from getting onto your table.

    4. Freeze ice in the rubber gloves. Be sure and thoroughly rinse out the powder that is inside the gloves. We purchased our gloves in a home improvement center because the fingers are bigger. First, drop in gummi worms into each of the fingers and add more gummi worms and some plastic spiders. Tie off the wrists with rubber bands and freeze on a flat surface. Remove the rubber glove after frozen and drop into your punch bowl. The gummi worms make it look like the veins in your hand (figure D ).

    5. Drop dry ice in the punch at the last minute. Be sure to use insulated gloves to handle the ice to prevent burns. The dry ice will make your punch very creepy.

    6. Cover furniture with canvas for a haunted look.

    7. Dim the lights, or install flicker bulbs for the party.

    Products:

Gossamer is available from fabric or upholstery stores. Erosion cloth comes from garden supply stores.
