    Materials:

Eyelashes: 6 sets each of lush white, iridescent pink and turquoise
Eyelashes: 2 sets of 6" long doll's eyelashes, and an additional 3" of doll's eyelashes
Water soluble cream makeup in iridescent fuchsia, turquoise, white and flat black
    Black eyebrow pencil
    Paintbrushes
    12 tiny pearl beads
    Stick-on crystals

    1. Create two sets of eyelashes 6" long. Start with three white ones and lay them out in a line. Cover them with three pink ones, overlapping the two joins. Cut one pink lash in half for the spaces on either end. Overlap again with the turquoise lashes. Finish with a 6" strip of the tiny black doll's eyelashes. Repeat the process for the second set of eyelashes and set them aside for later.

    2. Carefully glue five or six pearls onto a 1-1/2" strip of the tiny black doll's eyelashes. Set aside.

    3. Use a black eyebrow pencil to lightly sketch the outline of the butterfly wings around the model's eyes (figure A).

Note: You can find designs in books or freehand one of your own.

    4. Paint the outline in black cream makeup.

    5. Paint in the colors (figure B).

Note: Use a variety of brushes -- try several to see what works best for you. Buy the best quality brushes you can afford. Without using good brushes, the makeup will not go on smoothly.

    6. Complete with the black paint around the eye. Tidy up the outlines.

    7. Paint in the antenna.

    8. Carefully apply the lashes around each eye and allow them to set in place.

    9. Carefully apply the small set of lashes with pearls inside the curve of the larger set (figure C) of eyelashes. These will make the wings sparkle.

    10. Apply a little circle of crystals to the ends of the antennae on the forehead (figure D).

    11. Add some ribbons to your hair, a leotard, and you're done.
Note: Makeup can be removed with any makeup remover, petroleum jelly or baby wipes. If you're careful in removing the eyelashes, they can be used again.
