| Make this quirky Halloween jack-o-lantern, no cutting required! |

Materials: Large pumpkin -- 12-15" diameter Tempera poster paint 2-3" eye hooks for piercing and earring Wheat grass -- about 3" wide by 8" long Carrot 2 small orange miniature tomatoes (available in the fall, shaped like pumpkins) 2 protea blossoms 1 Japanese lantern blossom (available in the fall) Two 1" sequins 1 weird lemon -- looks a little like a yellow squid Hot glue Floral pick Wire Pearl hatpins 8" diameter cement pot - Remove the stalk from the pumpkin.
- Paint the pumpkin any color you wish -- we used a lime green.
- Glue the wheat grass over the top like a Mohawk haircut (figure A), or you can pin it on.
- Attach the features:
- Run a pearl hatpin through a sequin and through the middle of a small tomato for each eye.
- Wire the carrot on (or you can use a toothpick) as the nose.
- Open out one Japanese lantern blossom (figure B) and glue it on as the mouth.
- Glue the protea blossoms on as ears.
- Accessorize with piercing by twisting in an eyehook over one eye (figure C ) and screw one in as an earring.
- Insert a floral pick into the top of the lemon and poke it into the forehead, just in front of the wheat grass.
Tips: - Use the flowerpot as a pedestal.
- Make any substitutions that please you for the facial features.
Products: The poster paint is available from a craft store. Eye hooks and wire can be found at hardware stores. Everything else is available at a floral supply store.
