Host Chris Chianelli takes the modified Ultima ST™ for a test-drive -- or test-flight, as the case may be.

The Ultima ST, complete with new performance engine, hits the dirt track.
In this segment, Chris Chianelli gets to try out a modified and hopped-up RC truck powered by an electric engine.

Important: This demonstration provides some of the basic information for assembly and operation of this particular model truck. There are variations in assembly for each particular model. Read and carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions that come with yours, whether it is this particular model or another. Additional information about assembly as well as running, troubleshooting and fine-tuning the model can be found in the manufacturer's instructions.

Important: As with all RC models, when operating electrically powered trucks, the radio transmitter should always be the first thing turned on, and the last thing turned off. If a vehicle's receiver is turned on before the transmitter, the vehicle may pick up a stray signal and begin operating out of control. With the transmitter turned on first, the corresponding receiver will pick up -- and lock onto -- the proper radio signal.

    On Track

    • RC monster trucks love the dirt, and these electrically powered models are no exception (figure A).

    • Once a basic operation check is done on the Ultima ST, the newly upgraded truck is ready to take on some competition at the local dirt track (figure B).
