Materials:wire cutters wire connectors Hard Wiring the Power Pack - If using a non-hand held controller, it will need to be hard wired, which allows the power pack to be taken in and out of the weather.
- Use trailer connectors (figure A) to connect the wires to the power pack itself.
Note: Trailer Connectors have polarity, which means they can't be connected wrong. - Wire one section of track one way and the other the opposite direction. This keeps total polarity with the whole track.
- One set goes to the layout and the other to the transformer.
- Split wires apart and then strip the ends about 1/2" to make the connections.
- The green and yellow goes to the arc power of the layout. This is for the special effects on the layout.
- Crimp connectors onto wires. Then slide underneath screws on power pack and tighten down screws.
- Take track connectors and connect to the wires of the plug (figure B).
- Plug into the connector that is wired to the power pack.
