Project 3: Stepping Stone Path>Michael has no path leading from his driveway to his front door. Jason's plans call for an arching stepping stone path to mimic the curved beds of the yard.

- It's helpful to paint an outline where your path will be.
- Strip the sod inside the path.
- Lay out the stones in the pattern you desire (figures Q, R, S and T ).
- Use concrete (or builder's sand) to create a level base for the stones.
- Note: For a more secure base, dig out the soil under the stones and then lay sand.)
- Use a level to determine if the stepping stones are level.
- Fill in with mulch around the stones.
Cost: 3 tons of stepping stones cost $630. Project 4: New Light Fixtures Jason decided to replace Michael's old fixtures with new ones (figure U). Steps: - Turn off the power at the circuit breaker and use a circuit tester to make sure there are no live wires.
- Remove about 1/2 inch of insulation from the wires on the new fixtures.
Twist the together the wires Black wires to black wires, and white wires to white (figure V). Cover with wire nut.Secure light fixture according to directions.
