Project #2: Hanging a Window BoxMollie and Eric's home will look much improved with window boxes under both windows. We ordered window boxes in a blue color to match the shutters.
To hang the window boxes:- Use the hardware provided with your window box (figure Q).
- Measure (figure R) for positioning of the box.
Use a chalk line to mark where you'd like to install the hardware (figures S and T).
Wearing safety glasses, use a hammer drill to drill into the masonry (figure U) not the brick. Tip: Put a piece of tape on the drill bit to remind yourself where to stop drilling and to drill holes of uniform depth (figure V). Fill holes with exterior caulk to prevent water from seeping in.Insert hardware (figure W).
Once the hardware is installed and secure, carefully hang the window box on the sbrackets (figures X and Y).
