    The Erpenbeck family
Infant twins, one giant dog and two busy parents make for one very desperate landscape. In this project, DIY's landscape pro Jason Cameron helps Mollie and Eric Erpenbeck turn their barren front yard into one that the residents of Yancey Drive can be proud of.

A bunch of new plants and a huge new tree go a long way toward improving the landscape, but the crowning jewels in this makeover are the window boxes.

Jason packs up the drills, the saws and the shovels to tackle a weekend's worth of projects in just one day.

The basic steps in Mollie and Eric's home-exterior transformation, as seen in Desperate Landscapes episode 111, as well as a list of their new plantings, are summarized below.

But first, here's a gallery of images showing the "before" and "after"-effects of this Desperate Landscapes makeover.
