DIY's Jason Cameron heads to Washington Avenue where civic pride is booming in the city neighborhood. Karyn and Michael Cotton are feeling a little pressure from their neighbors (who happen to include a city councilman!) to fix up the front yard. Karyn and Michael have been too busy taking care of the grandkids and Karyn has just started a day care center at her church: all good reasons why they need help from Desperate Landscapes. Jason Cameron turns a "sea of brown" into a colorful garden and shows how to save money and energy by installing an awning.
The basic steps in Karyn and Michael 's home-exterior transformation, as seen in Desperate Landscapes episode 110, as well as a list of their new plantings, are summarized below. But first, here's a gallery of images showing the "before" and "after"-effects of this Desperate Landscapes makeover.
