      Yuma Crape Myrtle
      This is a multi-stemmed shrub that grows to about 15 feet in height. This award-winning Yuma has lavender flowers in July and August. Another interesting feature of this species is its exfoliating bark.
      Cost: $172.

      Maintenance Tip: Remove seed clusters after flowering to encourage reblooming

      Impatiens are annuals, and this type is more sun tolerant than traditional impatiens. They come in a variety of colors from white to cherry to amethyst.
      Cost varies.

      Maintenance Tip: Water frequently as New Guinea Impatiens have a low drought tolerance.

      The willowleaf Cotoneaster is an evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub that has bright berries in the winter. At a full height of about 15 inches, it grows low to the ground but spreads about 6 feet. The willowleaf is drought tolerant and does well in zones 6 through 9.
