Dollars and Sense

• We used more than 65 plants in Hardiness Zone 6.
  
• The single most expensive plant was the spruce, which cost $60.
  
• We spend the most money, $200, on chrysanthemums because we used so many.
  
• The filler plants like the pansies, asters, toad lily and goldenrod were all about $7 apiece.
  
• We saved money by re-planting the existing barberry and by reusing Paula's containers.
