Meet the Richardson's. Debbie and David have lived in a dry Arizona climate for more than 16 years, but are originally from the Midwest. They have two children, Aaron and Abby. Aaron plays baseball and football. Abby loves volleyball. David works hard in the yard and the family spends a lot of time trying to maintain the lawn and landscaping because of the kids. But Debbie thinks the landscape is "blah" and "tired" despite their efforts.

The builder put in the front landscaping. It's virtually unchanged since they moved in. It has no grass and desert landscaping. They've had trouble with citrus and some palms. They even tried vines to cover up the walls in the back, but the intense heat killed them. Their luck with planting in their yard has been very hit-and-miss.

They're also interested in herb and vegetable gardening.
