We used 20 plants in Hardiness Zone 6. You'll get the most life from your plants if you purchase high quality soil mix with manure and sand.
The most expensive plant was the Vanderwolf Blue Pine, which cost $240.
The least expensive selections were flowers. Dianthus, Rudbeckia and Shasta Daisies were all around $5 each for gallon-sized plants.
Plant prices may vary by zone.
