We removed a plum tree because it has black knot disease and replaced it with a huge Yaupon holly
They had great plants and shrubs, but a few needed to be relocated in better spots. Among them: a small anise tree, mondo grass and swamp jasmine.
We added plants that will do well in a woodland, shade garden including heuchera, astilbe, ferns including Autumn, Dixie Wood and Southern Shield.

Dollars and Sense We saved money by reusing some existing plants and planted 13 different plants in hardiness zone 7. The most expensive plant we used was the Yaupon Holly at $120 each. The least expensive plant was the Cast Iron Plant at $4.50 each. Plant prices may vary by zone.
