Plant Elijah Blue Fescue. Plant clumps of this blue grass in front of the dry streambed pebbles.Plant Frosty Curls Sedge. Create a little "meadow effect" by planting clumps of this sedge with the blue fescue in front of the streambed pebbles. Plant Masonic Arborvitae. Center this thuja on the right edge of the planting area next to the walkway leading to the apartment door. When kept in a cone shape, this evergreen gives the illusion of a tall, forest-like tree standing next to the streambed. Plant Dwarf Heavenly Bamboo. Plant this dwarf form of nandina in the lower center of the planting area. Using this smaller version of the larger shrub gives the space the illusion of being much larger. Plant Cranesbill. Plant these European geraniums in the lower right corner of the planting area, allowing the purple flowers and lacy foliage to drape over the retaining blocks.
