Steps1. To give a walking surface inside the arbor, use mulch to make a mud free surface. Spread it from the back to the front. Spread it by hand to get nice, precise corners (figure A). It may look thick, but it will become packed down quickly.
2. Bring in a potted topiary. We brought in a Texas privet (Ligustrum texanum). Its incredibly heat tolerant (figure B).
