The foyer or entryway to a home is what makes a first impression on visitors. It should be well defined and say welcome to all who come to call. The entry in this episode of Weekend Landscaping is rundown and lacks any kind of distinction. Join host Jessie Mack Burns as she turns a dull foyer into a chic entrance that welcomes guests with style and punch.

Simple and affordable materials are used, including tile, new lighting, a defined pathway and lots of plants. New lighting fixtures complement the clean modern lines of the house. A serviceable but boring concrete wall is livened up with tile, which allows it to complement the house design. The pathway to the entrance is defined with pavers. And finally, an abundance of plants are added behind the wall and in concrete pots by the entrance. When finished, this entrance will always be a reminder that there is no place like home.

In preparation for this project, grass is removed from cracks in the walkway, and gaps and holes are repaired in the concrete wall prior to the tile installation.
