    This slope is planted with the following plants:

    • Mirror plant (Coprosma Repens) (figure A)

    • Rockrose (Cistus)

    • Purple fountain grass (Pennisetum Setaceum Rubrum) (figure B), big grasses used to call attention to the top of the slope steps.

    • Fox red curly sedge (Carex Buchananii) (figure C), used below the purple fountain grass.

    • Variegated New Zealand flax (Phormium Tenax) (figure D), a dwarf variety used to anchor the bottom corners of the steps.

    • Red yucca (Hesperaloe Paviflora), tall, but not a barrier plant.

    • Green lavender cotton (Santolina Virens) (figure E), used for fragrance.

    • Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) (figure F), used at the top of the slope.

    • Red autumn sage (Salvia Greggii) (figure G), a plant loved by hummingbirds.

    • Honeysuckle (Lonicera) (figure H), which gives excellent slope coverage when taken off stake and allowed to grow on the ground.

    • Verbena (Verbena Lilacina), which will spread out like a groundcover and behave as a flowering shrub.

    • Spreading sunset lantana (Lantana X 'Monet'), heat tolerant and an excellent choice for poor soil conditions.

    • African daisy (Osteospermum) in shades of purple and white.
    • Treasure flower (Gazania) (figure I) is planted in groups in linear trenches cut into the slope soil (figure J). Long blocks of stone are used as a trench facing and stabilized with rebar. Fill with a good quality planting mix and plants.

    • Dwarf bottlebrush (Callistemon Citrinus 'Little John') are planted in terra-cotta pots flanking the door overlooking the slope.
