    Figure A

Children and the great outdoors just naturally go together. So why not give them their own miniature home complete with yard and garden. A place to enjoy the colors, textures and smells of plants, listen to the birds and a safe, healthy place to sink their toes in the soil. In this episode of Weekend Landscaping, host Jessie Mack Burns, creates a charming child's garden, complete with playhouse (figure A), fenced gardens planted with dwarf trees, vegetables, flowers and herbs and a lawn for those rough and tumble moments. Completing the picture is a small chicken coop for a few lucky pet chickens. Since children are always fascinated with animals, now they can discover how their scrambled eggs first get started. Since this is a space just for children, make this a fun learning experience by keeping them involved in all parts of the process from paint colors to plants.
