    • Jasmine and lemon trees often work well in containers and add indoor color. You can train many plants, such as hibiscus, as trees.

    • Select the right container for your size of plant, one that provides good drainage.

    • Choose the right soil for your shrub. Nursery or container potting mix adds the proper mix of nutrients and moisture retention.

    • Add flowers to the base of the larger plant. Lantana and bicopa are good plants to use as accents. Use sphagnum moss to fill the spaces between the lower plants.
