The interior beds are used as unique design elements. The use of color and unusual bedding materials helps showcase the plants and helps the garden become a living work of art.

- Serpentine green crushed gravel (figure A) is used in the interior back bed. A thick layer is laid to prevent weed growth. Landscape fabric can also be laid before gravel is poured to further protect from weeds. Make sure the gravel is snug against the hose and any planted materials to help maintain the crisp geometric look of the beds.
- Recycled glass, the size of shooter marbles, is used in the next two interior beds. The first color is a pale aqua blue (figure B). Make sure the glass is poured to varying heights for depth, dimension and shading as it is lit from the sun.
- Choose a complimentary color of glass for the third bed (figure C) and repeat the process .
- A chunk of green slag glass (figure D) is nestled into the recycled blue glass for additional color and interest.
- Your garden is complete, except for creating a comfortable, high vantage point of your choice, for perfect viewing.
