Hand-painted ceramics can add an air of whimsy to staid table settings. Figure A

Adorn your table with unique do-it-yourself designs. Tableware designer Delia Heilig handpaints ceramic pieces for a one-of-a-kind look.

Materials:

Ceramic cups or bowls
Ceramic glazes
Brushes

1. Draw design in pencil on object. Tip: Practice tracing design on paper a few times first to perfect the technique.

2. Trace design with ceramic glaze (figure A).

3. Fire the ceramics at commercial paint or glaze operation to set the design.
