  • Quick Tip: Removing Wax from Carpet
  • From "Ask DIY"
    episode ADI-405
    advertisement

Here are several tips you might try to get wax out of your carpet:

    • Hold an ice cube on the wax to harden it, then pick off the hardened wax. Some of the wax will probably still remain, but this will get the larger bits.

    • There are several products on the market designed especially to remove wax from carpet. You may want to check them out.

    • Place a brown paper bag over the wax and run a warm iron (no steam!) over it. The paper will soak up the melted wax.

    • If you've successfully removed colored wax from your carpet but there's still a stain, try a carpet cleaner that's designed to remove dyes.
