Choose a bottle that you really like, and take the stopper off.
The kit comes with different size stoppers. Take the one that fits your bottle, and screw the adapter in (figure A) until there is a 1/4" coming out on the other side.
Afte the adapter is in place, take a check ring and lay it on top.
With the socket cap (figure B), you have two options: 1) you can run the wire out the bottom of the bottle or 2) you can run the wire out the side of the socket cap. We chose to go with the second option since our bottle didn't have a hole in the bottom.
Turn (screw it in) the socket cap until it's on the bottle top securely.
Now you're ready to feed the wire through. All you have to do is feed it through the side and out the top.
The only tricky part is to pull the wires through, split the wires about 5" or 6" and loop the wires around and tie what is called an "underwriter's knot" (figure C).
Note: The underwriter's knot is simply a safety feature so the wire doesn't pull back through.
Take the ribbed wire and connect it to the silver screw on the terminal. And take the other wire and connect to the other side.
Tuck the wires down and take the socket shell (figure D) and put it over the top and secure tightly. When the socket shell clicks, you'll know it's firmly set.
Screw in the light bulb and attach the shade, and you have a bottle lamp!
