    Tips:

    • For safety's sake, don't advertise big purchases such as electronics and power tools by setting the boxes out at the curb.

    • To grow moss, mix up a batch of 12 oz. beer, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and a couple of clumps of moss. Paint this mixture thickly on any damp shady surface you'd like to be moss covered and the moss will slowly grow and spread.

    • When repairing cracks in your driveway, sprinkle dry concrete mix along with wet concrete caulk and your patchwork will be invisible.

    • Hitting an underground wire or gas line could be fatal. Call your utility companies a week before you dig. Keep in mind that their markings are only approximate -- stay at least two feet away on both sides.

    • Keep your work piece level with outriggers for your miter saw, measure the height of your saws base and match that height by attaching the appropriate thickness to an 18" X 6" plywood base. Use the outriggers to level long trim boards and your cuts will always be true.

    • Copper tops made for fence posts can also provide attractive protection for deck and mailbox posts.
