There is no need to hunt through cabinets when you can keep all of the necessities out where you need them.

    • Baskets can be used to stash hand towels and tissues (Figure A).

    • A glass front cabinet makes a perfect medicine chest.

    • Clear jars in various sizes are an attractive way to keep cotton balls handy.

    • Keep jewelry off the counter, but out where you can see it by replacing the glass in a picture frame with wire mesh for a unique jewelry holder (Figure B).

    • Think about keeping a container filled with essentials close to the tub.

    • A ladder's steps are the perfect place for storing extra towels, as is open shelving. Why not add a corner unit if you have the space?

    • Repurpose items where you can: like using a tiered plate rack (Figure C) to hold things you frequently use, but don’t want cluttering up your counter.

    • Washcloths can be stored in decorative bowls (Figure D).

    • To assure you won’t run out of bath tissue, just decoupage a wooden box and keep it conveniently located.

    • Some unique containers to consider in a bathroom include antique Ball jars, cut-glass decanters, ceramic ginger jars, Italian glass bottles with stoppers sold to hold olive oil and vintage kitchen cookie jars.

    • Add shelves or cabinets in recessed areas that don’t get much traffic, like over the toilet or in a corner.

    • A built-in cupboard with glass doors encourages neatness within. Stack fluffy towels and bath sheets on exposed shelves and place less pretty necessities on hidden shelves.

    • Use in-drawer spice racks and pull-out shelves designed for the kitchen in the bathroom to organize nail polish, make-up and other products.

    • Baskets are a great way to store towels and toilet paper. Shop garage sales or discount stores for inexpensive ones.

    • Repurpose things typically used in other ways, such as: an umbrella stand to hold toilet paper, a plant stand to hold shampoos, a pedestal bowl to hold washcloths, etc.

    • Skirt a pedestal sink to provide extra storage underneath for cleaning supplies and the like. Use adhesive backed hook and loop tape to hold the skirt in place.
