Journaling is a fantastic way to record hopes, dreams, memories, and adventures.

    • Begin with a basic composition notebook (figure A) and some scrapbooking supplies.

    • Consider designing your journal with a theme in mind, like a wedding or family vacation.

    • Apply adhesive to the book’s cover.

    • Line up your cardstock, press firmly in place and then trim with a utility knife (figure B).

    • On the inside front and back, glue a 12-inch piece of ribbon to the interior covers.

    • Cover the inside of the book using your adhesive, utility knife and cardstock.

    • It’s time to embellish with items that reflect your tastes and interests (figure C).

    • For an extra touch, attach a grommet to the top of the back cover and thread through some ribbon tied to a bookmark. This way you’ll never loose your place in your new one-of-a kind journal.
