    Materials:

UV home air sanitizer kit (with UV bulb and mounting template)
    Hole saw drill bit
    Safety glasses
    Alcohol wipes
Drill with 1/8" and 1/2" drill bits
    Screwdriver

Note: According to the Environmental Protection Agency, indoor air is up to 100 times more contaminated than outdoor air. While filters can trap hair and dust, other airborne germs such as mold, bacteria and viruses pass right through the filter.

UV light harnesses the power of the sun to stop the growth of these harmful germs.

    1. To install begin by locating the supply or return air duct closest to your furnace.

    2. Mount the adhesive-backed template (figure A) to the air duct. Drill 1/8" screw holes as indicated on the template, and then cut a hole for the view port using a 1/2" drill bit.

    3. Cut a large opening for the bulb in the center with the hole saw (figure B).

    4. Mount the base to the air duct with screws and insert the bulb into the ballast.

    5. Clean the bulb with the alcohol wipe and insert it through the center hole of the mounting base (figure C). Give the ballast a 90-degree twist to lock it into place.

    6. Plug the cord into a standard 120-volt outlet. When the power is on, you'll see the blue ultra-violet light through the view port.

With your new UV air sanitizer you can rest assured the air inside your home will be as clean as the air outside.
