    Materials:

    3/4" hardwood
    1/4" plywood
    Table saw
    Wood glue and screws
    Drill press
    Stain
    Paintbrush
    Clamps
    Drill
    Tape measure

    1. Begin by determining how large a cabinet you plan to construct. You should allow 4-1/4" on center between bottles and allow for 3" from the center of the last bottle to the end of the rack.

    2. Now cut the side, top and bottom panels to length (figure A) using the 3/4" wood. Miter the corners and, with the drill press, create evenly spaced holes for shelf pins (figure B). Then cut a corresponding back panel using the 1/4" plywood.

Note: Here we have cut the sides 20" high and the top and bottom panels 15-7/8" long.

    3. To create the bottle racks, cut 2" boards to length and bore properly spaced semi-circles with a hole cutter (figure C).

    4. Next, install a dado blade onto the table saw and notch the 2" boards to receive the panels with the semi-circles. Then notch four 3/4" panels to form glass racks (figure D).

    5. With all the cutting complete, assemble the bottle racks and the cabinet with glue and clamps, and reinforce each corner with recessed screws.

    6. Allow the glue to dry and sand and stain all the wood surfaces. Screw the glass racks into place and you're ready to kick back with a glass of your favorite vintage!
