Materials:Plain top sheet Strip of fabric from vintage curtain panel Fringe Iron Scissors Sewing machine Straight pins Safety pins Thread

- Cut a 3-1/2" strip from the vintage curtains. Iron the strip before pinning and sewing it on to make sure the seam allowance is neat and straight.
- If the vintage strip is not as wide as the sheet, fold both in half and mark them with a safety pin. Pin both centers in line with each other and the sides will match as well. You can use coordinating fringe (figure A) to decorate to the ends of the sheet if you do not have enough of the vintage material.
- Pin the vintage strip onto top sheet and sew into place.
Tip: You can take elastic hair bands and gather the sheet in several places (figure B). This makes it much easier to maneuver a large, bulky item when sewing. - To enhance the sheet even more, you can sew on a coordinating ribbon or pom-poms (figure C) along the edge of the material. Get creative and make something beautiful you can enjoy.
