    1. Brush index print with a very thin layer of Kato Polyclay Clear Medium Liquid Polyclay. Use the heat gun to set it. Once it has cooled, turn it over and repeat this step with the back of the index print.

    2. Carefully cut out the prints and place aside (figure A).

    3. Next, cut two 1-3/4" lengths of the copper wire. Using round nose pliers, bend the end the wire and form a loop on each wire.

    4. String a gold tile bead, 8 mm glass bead, gold tile bead, hematite, gold tile bead, hematite, followed by a gold tile bead. Using the round nose pliers, make a loop at the end of the wire. Repeat this step for the other wire.

    5. Using the jump rings, finish the pieces by attaching a half moon celestial charm on each wire.

    6. Cut one – 2-3/4" length of the copper wire. Using the round nose pliers, bend the end of the wire and form a loop on the wire.

    7. String a gold tile bead, teardrop bead, gold tile bead, 12 mm bead, gold tile bead, 6 mm bead, followed by a gold tile bead. Using the round nose pliers, make a loop at the end of the wire. Using a jump ring, finish the piece by attaching the sun charm on the wire.

    8. Pre-condition all clay by hand-kneading for two to three minutes; or by cutting clay into thin slices and running it through the pasta machine several times.

    9. Using the thickest setting on the pasta machine, roll out a sheet of gold clay. Lay on the ceramic tile. Using a sharp blade cut two 1-3/4" x 2-3/4" rectangles. Place one aside to use as a backing. Take the other rectangles and place on a piece of wax paper. Lightly spray the clay with automotive protectant and spread it out with your fingers. Stamp the clay sheet with the textured plate (figure B). Make sure to stamp hard enough to leave a deeply impressed pattern.

    10. Use the square cutter to punch out two squares and remove the cut clay. Lay this piece on top backing piece. Using the square cutter, place it gently in the already removed squares to gently leave an impression on the bottom layer. This will become your template for placing the photos.

    11. Take the reserved backing piece and brush with a thin layer of Kato Liquid Medium. Place the photos on the pre-marked squares and gently press them into place (figure C).

    12. Place the top of the pin onto the backing and gently press into place. Trim away any excess clay. Poke three holes in the front of the pin with a needle tool.

    13. Gently place in the oven and bake at 275 degrees Fahrenheit for forty-five minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

    14. Assemble the pin by attaching the three finished wire pieces to the pin with the extra large gold jump rings. Be sure to place the 2-3/4" piece in the center of the pin. Finish pin by attaching the pin back with super-strength glue (figure D).
