    Figure B

    Materials:

Flower petals (best to use flowers that are beginning to wilt)
    Large cooking pot
Wooden or plastic spoon (to stir the petals in the boiling water)
    Potholders
    Strainer
Decorative container (dark bottles work best)

    1. Place the petals from the flowers in a large pot of boiling water. Let boil for 5 minutes.

Tip: The less water and the more petals you use, the more powerful the fragrance will be.

    2. After the 5 minutes of boiling, pour the water through a strainer. Note that the water is colored (figure A).

    3. Pour the fragrant water into a decorative container.

    Special Fragrant Ingredients:

    • Lavender
    • Fresh grasses (figure B)
    • Juniper beans
    • All kinds of fruits -- oranges, limes, etc.

    Why Create Homemade Scents?

    • The savings gained by creating scents at home are measurable.

    • You can customize your own fragrances with your favorite flowers.

    • Store in the bottle style of your choice. Note: The darker the bottle, the longer the fragrance will last.

Products: All materials are found in nature and at retail stores.
