Layered Cantaloupe

Materials:

1 cantaloupe
1 Deba-style knife
set of 6 U-V cutters
1 short blade Thai-style knife

1. Cut off the end of the melon to form a stable base.

2. Cut off opposite end of melon and discard.

3. Use small U cutter to make cuts for the initial flower shape.

4. Use knife to cut away a thin layer of melon under the first layer of petals.

5. Remove layer and discard center.

6. Use next layer U cutter to make another series of cuts.

7. Repeat for each row using progressively large U cutters.

8. Leave an inch or two of uncut melon at the base.
