    Materials:

    cantaloupe
    carving knife
    carving board

    Spiral Melon Vase

    1. Cut off one end of the melon to form a stable base.

    2. Using a peeler or cheese shaver, peel the melon.

    3. Holding a knife at an angle, follow the first cut to cut away a thin layer.

    4. Remove the layer and discard.

    5. Repeat the cut around until the melon is carved. The finished product can be used as a centerpiece or vase.
