Guest Tiffany Windsor shares a unique round robin altered book featured multiple insided altered pages with special finishes and effects. Windsor applies gesso, crackle finish, tea-dye varnish and sheer color medium to her pages.Gesso - Use to cover words or patterns on project. First, dip soft bristle brush or foam sponge brush into gesso. Brush onto surface and allow to dry. Additional coats may be applied until desired coverage is achieved. When dry, gesso may be sanded for an even smoother surface.
Crackle - Use this product to create aged, weather-worn lines in surface finish. First apply a heavy coat of acrylic paint with soft bristle brush. Allow to dry and apply one coat of crackle medium. Let dry until slightly tacky to touch. Do not allow crackle to dry completely. Apply a coat of paint in a contrasting color, taking care not to overbrush. Cracks form within minutes. Allow paint to dry.
Tea Dye - For a warm vintage look, stir contents of jar, apply with soft bristle brush directly onto surface and allow to dry.
Sheer color - Used to create a translucent glaze finish. Mix with acrylic paint in a 1:1 ratio. Apply with soft bristle brush directly onto paper surface and allow to dry.
