Place fresh fig leaves, that have been washed well, around a wicker platter or tray (figure A).
Use some of your favorite ceramic bowls for your hors d' oeuvres (figure B). One could hold olives with a small dish beside it for the pits, in another bowl, you could have a mixture of nuts and dried fruits. A small vase is great for holding bread sticks.
You can take fig leaves and wrap them around votive candleholders and then tie them on with a piece of raffia string (figure C). These are lovely to place around the wicker platter.
Tip: You can use earthquake putty to steady bowls on an uneven surface.
For your dessert plate, place individual desserts around the plate and add pesticide-free flowers to the top of each. Although it doesn't go with desserts, a sprig of rosemary looks nice with the flowers. Cover the plate with an embellished cover that keeps bugs away.
