    Mariotti hand-painted these velvet throws, then embossed them.

    Materials:

    Velvet (cotton, silk or rayon)
    Iron
    Spray bottle of water
    Fabric stamps -- wooden, brass or metal (figure A)

    Note: Set iron on wool (no steam).

    1. Generously mist the right side of the fabric.

    2. Place the stamp (rubber side up) on your ironing board.

    3. Lay fabric right side down on top of the stamp.

    4. Press iron to wrong side of the fabric. Don't move it! Count to 20 and lift up carefully. If necessary, apply iron to stamp again for 10 seconds.
