    1. At 4-inch intervals, score the brown card stock vertically two times, creating the tri-fold effect. Use a bone folder to enhance the folded edges.

    2. Ink mesh with orange StazOn ink. Be sure to have scrap paper behind the mesh so as not to ink your work surface (figure A).

    3. Starting with a large piece of silver metal, use the Alphametal stamps to emboss the descriptive words that you want to use to describe Dad. Remember to leave space at the start and end of the word to have room to attach the brad. For best results, ink each Alphametal letter with the orange ink before hammering it into the metal. This way the ink goes exactly where you want it, similar to using a rubber stamp (figure B).

    4. Use scissors to cut the words off the larger piece of metal to the size you want.

    5. Cut strips of ivory, orange and black card stock as desired to create the color blocking effect behind the wire mesh (figure C).

    6. Use paper piercer to punch the holes on either side of the words for placement of the brads. Decide on layout of words onto the wire mesh and make tick marks where you want them. Use the brads to attach the words to the wire mesh (see again figure C).

    7. Layout your strips of card stock on the face of the card and adhere the card stock using any adhesive.

    8. Place wire mesh over the color-blocked pieces of card stock and line up where desired. Attach the wire mesh by strategically placing Glue Dots at the back of the metal words, hidden from view. The wire mesh is taut so it will stay in place.

    9. Layer your metal letters at the top and attach with Mini Glue Dots.

    10. Layer a strip of thin black card stock over the top of the mesh right below the word, adding visual division. Attach it to the mesh and the card stock with Glue Dots.

    11. Tear your far right flap (interior flap) from the bottom left corner diagonally to the right top corner.

    12. Attach strips of black, orange and ivory card stock for interest.

    13. Attach an ivory piece of card stock to inside center of card, making it easy to write and read an interior message (figure D).
