Project designed by Scott Petti.3-D Vacation Memory Materials: several copies of picture small scissors or craft knife paper trimmer glue tweezers foam core cardstock, matte board - Choose a picture with depth, interesting background, and/or several people in the photo. Decide how many layers you wantyou will need at least three layers from background (figure A) to foreground for a 3-D effect.
- Cut pictures for each layersmall scissors or a craft knife makes this much easier, especially when cutting around tiny objects.
- Put a small amount of glue in each corner of the base picture and press it in place on a piece of foam core.
- Glue cardstock on the back of the first raised element, for just a slight amount of height.
- Position this layer directly over the base picture, matching images.
- Repeat for remaining layers adding thicker and thicker cardstock, matte board, or foam core to increase height (figure B).
- When layering, build from the background to the foreground:
- First layerentire picture.
- Second layerentire picture except for the furthest objects/people.
- Third layernext closer objects/people.
- And so on, the last layer will be objects/people or object/person in the foreground.
