    Materials:

    scissors or paper cutter
    mat or chip board or heavy stock
    masking tape
    various ink pads
    paper towels
    heat tool (optional)
    adhesive
    letter stickers

    1. Cut background for title block to shape and size. Use mat board, chip board or other heavy card stock.

    2. Tear small pieces of masking tape and completely cover front side of title block. Using two to three different colors of stamping ink and working direct to paper, rub the ink pad directly onto the tape-covered block (figure A).

    3. Buff the title block lightly with paper towel. Most of the ink will cling in the creases of tape. Repeat this process, working with the next darker shade each time. Concentrate on the edges of the block when using the darkest shade of ink. When buffing the title block, you can leave a little more ink or less ink showing depending on pressure used. Keep adding the layers and buffing back until the block looks right to you.

    4. Let set for the ink to dry. Lightly set ink with a heat gun if necessary.

    5. Finish title with letter stickers and Alphabetz, and attach with glue (figure B).
