Project by Stacey Panassidi.Stacey shares how to alter tiles with stamps and fabrics, creating a keychain out of a tile and a card to match.
1. Cut black card stock to 9-3/4" x 6-3/4" for card body. Cut pattern paper 4-3/4" x 6-1/2". Adhere to card cover.2. Draw or trace heart onto red corduroy fabric and cut out. Adhere to card with minimal adhesive, such as photo tabs, in the center of the heart to be able to stitch around the outer edge. Stitch around heart with white thread using a zigzag stitch.
3. Choose the "I", "Y", "O", "U" alphabet tiles. Place small brads in holes on tiles, bending back prongs. Adhere tiles to card with Zots and set aside.
4. Ink up stamp with StazOn ink. Choose an area on your stamp that you think you would like on your keychain. Press stamp on tile, covering the entire tile (figure A). Ink will dry almost instantly.
5. Pick up tile and flip over to the back. Using the thin ThermoWeb Super Tape, line the edges of the tile. Peel backing off of tape and cinching lace around the edges of the tile (figure B).
6. Attach approximately six jump rings to tile and end with a keychain ring. Place keychain on red heart and apply bauble to front of tile.
7. In center of tile, crisscross two strips of black ribbon and adhere with Zots on all four corners, wrapping ribbon ends on back and inside of card. Make sure ribbon is stretched taut across keychain to create a pocket (figure C).
