1. Cut two pieces of chipboard to 5-3/4" x 7-1/4" and one piece to 3/4" x 5-3/4."2. Wrap the two large pieces with printed card stock. Attach the spine between the front and back cover with the self-stick velvet paper.
3. Cut out a 2" x 3-1/2" window from front cover. Mat around window with velvet paper.
4. Cut solid card stock pieces to 5" x 7." Then cut 1" x 5" strips of self-stick velvet paper. Hinge all card stock pieces together at one end using velvet strips.
5. For embellishments, write word(s) on metal strip with ink pen, sprinkle embossing powder over it, shake off excess, and melt with heat gun.
6. Cover surface of circle letters with beads of diamond glaze and allow to dry.
7. Add letters to cover. Then slightly poke holes between letters and glue in mini eyelets.
8. Add raffia ribbon across bottom corner and attach metal nameplate. Poke large brad through cover.
Note: To raise the brad higher up off the cover, thread a large eyelet onto brad prongs before poking it into the cover.
9. Poke two holes through back cover of the book. Cut open hair elastic, thread each end into a hole, and glue securely in place.
10. Wrap a variety of fibers around the spine and tie in a knot on the outside.
11. Once all cover embellishments are complete, glue card stock pages to inside of book, which will hide all the imperfections on the underside of the covers. Trim out the card stock lining on the inside cover to re-expose the window.
12. Add photos, journaling and embellishments.
Note: Be aware that if adding brads or eyelets, don't pierce the actual page since it will show through onto one of the other pages. Instead, add them to an element and then attach that to the page with adhesive.
13. To cover pages, trim the bottom right corner of an 8-1/2" x11" sheet protector to 5" x 6-1/2." Slide over the top and out the edge until it is in place; then attach the bottom left corners with a small transparent mounting square.
