Project by Jill Miller.Jill writes, "When my twin sister Stacey died suddenly at the age of 19, I felt that I had lost everything. I saved a few of her treasures, but I did not save my thoughts, and so over time, I have forgotten many memories. About nine years ago, I began a scrapbook about her. Last Christmas, I asked my parents, brothers and sisters for just one gift--a letter about Stacey, as they remembered her. I took those thoughts and complied them into a mini album and made copies for each member. I will deliver these gifts on what would be our 40th birthday this year. This is my tribute to my twin, to keep her memory alive within me and within our family." Materials: K&Company 12" x 12" specialty paper * K&Company lettering stickers K&Company die-cut punch-out sheet K&Company 8-1/2" x 11" ivory and sage green card stock K&Company ecru vellum Double-stick tape Hewlett-Packard Creative Scrapbook Assistant software * Note: You can make two albums from the supplies listed with just one more sheet of 12" x 12" specialty paper.
1. Cut a long strip of specialty paper one row of squares wide. Cut another strip two rows wide and set aside. 2. Cut remaining large specialty paper in two pieces five rows high by eight rows wide. Fold these rectangles in half to make four panels, five rows high by four rows wide. Adhere backs of two panels together. 3. Cut green card stock in half. Adhere back of first panel to left side of card stock. Cut leftover two rows wide specialty paper in half and adhere to reverse left side of green card stock. This will be the front of your mini album. 4. Do not secure last panel of specialty paper to green card stock or book will buckle when closed. Instead, fold long strip one row wide in half and secure ends. Slide sleeve of paper over right side of green card stock and specialty paper. Secure to back of left side green card stock and trim edges. 5. Place die-cut punch-out over seam on back of mini album. 6. Add lettering stickers and filler stickers as desired on front of album (figure A). Add photos and journaling. Finish by folding in half long border punch-out and butterfly. Slide this sleeve over entire album when closed to keep book from falling open.
