    Quilling is the fine art of twirling and curling paper strips to create beautiful three-dimensional embellishments. Whether you want to embellish a card, picture frame, or scrapbook page, quilling is easier than it looks. A twist here and a pinch there; before you know it, your quilling has come to life! The possibilities of what you can create are only limited by your imagination.

    Materials:

    Karen Foster Designs Santa Fe textures paper
    Bazzill Basics card stock: brown, burnt orange, rust
    EK Success Adornaments fibers
    Creative Imaginations transparency: Love by Karen Russell
    Quickutz tag die cut
    Lake City Crafts slotted quilling tool
    Lake City Crafts fringer

    1. Attach transparency overlay to background paper with mini brads in each corner.

    2. Triple mat photo (figure A).

    3. Attach fibers to bottom of photo (figure B) and then adhere mounted photo to right side of layout.

    4. Attach fibers to left side of layout to form a border (figure C).

    5. Use the Quickutz die cut to cut five brown and five burnt orange tags.

    6. Cut 1/8-inch-wide strips of rust card stock.

    7. Cut 5/8-inch-wide strips of burnt orange card stock and fringe (figure D).

    8. Quill five 5-inch rust teardrops and one 3-inch fringed tight circle for each flower (figure E).

    9. Assemble quilled flowers onto tags.

    10. Attach tags to layout as shown with mini brads (figure F).

    11. Reverse print on card stock the word "Love" at 275 pt.

    12. Cut out word using craft knife and glass mat. Adhere to layout below matted photo (figure G).
